My Dream Come True

I know....it's been a LONG time since I've updated my blog but here it goes. My dear husband has fulfilled one of my biggest dreams this weekend, to own a cow. Make that two cows. We rented a trailer, drove up to Hawthorne (north/east of Gainesville) and drove these sweet little girls to their new home today. They loaded up like champs, traveled well (we stopped to check on them often and they didn't seem stressed) and unloaded great. They seem to be settled and getting used to their new barn and pasture. Isabel (Izzy) was hesitant at first but did eat out of our hands this afternoon. Belladonna (Bella) is still unsure of us and hasn't been handled as much but she came very close to us and ate some hey while we all stood there watching. They are just adorable and had quite a welcoming party. We had all of our neighbors waiting on us to come home so they could come see our beauties. I just checked on them a few minutes ago and it appears they are settled in the barn for the night. Our neighbor graciously offered to allow us to use 1/2 of their barn and a small part of their pasture to make things nicer for them until we build our own barn. Will update as things progress and add a few other recent pictures of the rest of the family.

thanks Sharon, Kimberly and Jill. We are all loving them VERY much and Izzy (the older one) is warming up to us quickly. The boys are LOVING them. They even fight over who gets to scoop the poop out of the barn. Isn't that great???
